Keeping on track
How do you know you are keeping on the right track on le chemin de Compostelle?

These are the symbols you see pasted up on various bits of road furniture, and sometimes on trees or fences.. There are often arrows L & R if you face a choice. But they are very small, not much more than credit card size, so you have to keep your eyes peeled.
Some pilgrims struggle with maps, but I use an app called Buen Camino, which allows you to download not only the various Iberian routes, but also the French ones, including the Via Lemovicensis, which I am following. This app tracks your progress in real time, and is incredibly useful if you are getting rather off the route - the blue dot that is you shows where you have gone wrong!
